○ Gyeonggi-do - GSBC, operated a common center at America and China textile exhibitions.
○ Total U$6.21 million was achieved during export business talks at America and China textile exhibitions.

Gyeonggi Textile Marketing Center (hereinafter called "GTC") operated by Gyeonggi-do and Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center (hereinafter called "GSBC") participated in overseas textile exhibitions held in America and China, and introduced the excellence of products of Gyeonggi-do's textile enterprises.

First of all, total 700 fabrics of 30 GTC member companies were displayed at the "Inter-textile Shenzhen Textile Exhibit" held at the Shenzhen Convention Center from the 10th to the 12th, and business talks for U$4.42 million were made.

The "Inter-textile Shenzhen Textile Exhibit" is an overall exhibition of fashionㆍtextileㆍfabric held at the Shenzhen, one of 4 special economic zones in China, and participating buyers were much interested in products made with the newly developed material of TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), 3D printing material, linen, lace and mesh.

Lee, Jaegyu, the representative of JusangTRD, who participated in the exhibition, said that "China has high awareness of and much interest in our fashion products, and the number of buyers who look for high-class and high-priced fashion products are increasing" and added that "I am satisfied to have obtained useful information for entrance into Chinese market through business talks with buyers and I will make constant efforts to explore Chinese market in the future."

Further, total 1,500 fabrics of 40 GTC member companies were displayed at the "2014 New York-Korea Textile Exhibit" held at the Metropolitan Pavilion Exhibit in south Manhattan, New York in USA from the 9th to the 10th, and business talks for U$1.79 million were made.

The "2014 New York-Korea Textile Exhibit" has been settled as the only Korean textile exhibit held in New York, the biggest fashion market in the world, and has a reputation of good exhibit from middle standing enterprises which prefer premium fabric of Korea.

In addition to global fashion brand buyers such as Calvin Klein and Armani, about 1,000 buyers from department stores and fabric importers flooded into the exhibit to see Korean high-class fabric, and the exhibit was a great success.

Different from Chinese textile products keeping a firm grip on existing market for low and middle priced goods, global fashion companies' interest in Korean textile is increasing especially due to FTA's coming into effect and it was a chance to reinforce a high-value and high-quality image of Korean textile; and, participating buyers expressed good response by immediately asking sample fabric for some items of Gyeonggi-do's enterprises.

Manager Rodrigues, who visited the Korea Exhibit from distant LA, said that "I lay my eyes on Korean fabric because of fresh design and peculiar patterns in addition to high price competitiveness" and added that "it is very nice to meet Korean fabric companies with plenty of ideas because I can find out new things at all times."

The representative of VIT Mr. Jay Lee, who participated in the exhibit, said that "American buyers have perceptions that Korean companies produce differentiated and high-value textile" and added that "I hope contracts with buyers with whom business talks were made will be concluded soon,"

Meantime, Gyeonggi-do and GSBC continuously participate in exhibits held in overseas countries on behalf of Gyeonggi-do in order to advertise excellence of Gyeonggi-do's textile fabric and to develop oversea markets.
